HCA Students Recognized by Kansas Honors Program

On Wednesday evening, October 22nd, Emily Currey, Jared Finley, and Alex Wendte  were commended for their exceptional academic achievement by the Kansas Honors Program sponsored by the Kansas University Alumni Association. The three HCA seniors joined student representatives of other area high schools who also ranked in the top ten percent of their classes.

The Kansas Honors Program, a KU tradition since 1971, rewards high school seniors for their hard work and dedication to academic excellence. Each student was given individual recognition and was awarded a special edition, personalized Webster’s Dictionary as well as a certificate of merit.

"I am very proud of Emily, Jared and Alex," said Rick Jarvis, Dean of Faculty and Curriculum.  "To be in the top percent takes self-discipline, hard work and sacrifice.  More importantly, because of their relationship with Christ they are the exact Christian thinkers that we desire to develop at HCA."
